Twas the early morning before Christmas....

Thu Dec 24, 2009, 2:05 AM
Or late night, depending on how you look at it. It's 1:15 am as I'm typing this for those wondering. Alright, so I got around to posting a couple of those Yu-Gi-Oh! converts I mentioned in the last journal. No Monster Hunter stuff yet though. Sorry folks. I've got about 2 that's nearly done but I'm not quite satisfied enough to post them (I'm very rarely ever fully satisfied with my cards, FYI). On the slate currently is: Kushala Daora, Shogun Ceanataur, and possibly Rathalos. Some of the Dark Magician stuff is nearly done, however.

The other 4 Monarchs will be posted soon, but their Yu-Gi-Oh! abilities would make no sense in the colors their Attributes and elements put them into. There's really no way to make some of them fit into their colors both mechanically AND flavorfully. Thus, they'll be presented in the Planar Chaos shifted frame as that lets me get away with the off-colored-ness of the remaining Monarchs. I'll post one after this journal just to show you what I mean. The last 3 Monarchs will be posted shortly after, probably tomorrow (the 25th). Hehe, get it? Christmas? 3 Kings? Ehh? Ehh?

I've also gone back and updated most of my cards to the .png file format. I dunno if that improves the picture significantly or anything though. In doing that, however, I took the opportunity to edit and errata many of the cards. Some got a major facelift, like The Winged Dragon of Ra [link] and Slifer the Sky Dragon [link] while others only had minor cosmetic changes like Jinzo. I updated all the Author's Notes fields as well, cleaning them up, making them easier to read, and adding a lot more to them.

As for new projects, I really want to do Final Fantasy X again. And I think I might start it after New Year's. I'm also going to take the Monarch cards and giving them new abilities to make them fit into the color that they would make most sense in (like the Frost Monarch being blue and not like white) though this will only apply to the 4 shifted ones.

That's all as it's now 2 am. Once again, I wish everyone a very merry Christmas and happy holiday season and wonderful new year!
